The staff, governors and children of Westwood Primary School would like to welcome you and your family to our school.
At Westwood Primary School we have a clear vision and determination to ensure all children are in receipt of high quality teaching and learning, make good progress and achieve true potential.
Westwood Primary School works in partnership with Grove Primary School. Westwood Primary School is led by Executive Headteacher, Mrs Rae Aldous and Head of School, Mrs Lauraine Barnes (pictured). Additionally, there are other leadership, teaching and support staff shared roles across the two schools. Together, the schools strive for excellence, have a relentless drive for school improvement and benefit from the shared ethos and working practices.
Both schools offer a high quality education to all children. Our aim is to provide a caring, nurturing, stimulating, exciting and safe learning environment. We strongly value the importance of parents/carers and look forward to working in partnership with you.
Year 5! Welcome back! A fantastic start to the Summer Term! In Literacy, we have been designing a new product and writing an explanation text in preparation for our Dragons Den event next week. In Maths, we have been presenting data using line graphs. In Reading, we have analysed the production materials for Pig Heart Boy. In Science, we have investigated and researched theories considering how the solar system has developed. In Geography, we used maps and graphs to make inferences surrounding how the global population is changing. In Rounders, we developed our skills when throwing and catching. Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Norwich Theatre Royal to watch the stage performance of Pig Heart Boy, our class Reading novel. We had an incredible time - all children were exceptional role models! Thank you! Have a lovely weekend! Please remember that our PE days are Monday and Wednesday.
