💜 Year 6 💜 A huge well done to all of our Year 6 pupils for completing SATs week! We could not be prouder of the children - they have shown such resilience, maturity and determination throughout. They approached each day with calmness and positivity, supporting one another and really giving their all. It has been a long build-up to this week and they should feel incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. It has been a pleasure to see their confidence shine! In the afternoons, it has been wonderful to see the children relax into their learning and enjoy a range of different activities. In R&WV, we explored prayer in Islam and had some thoughtful discussions about its importance. In History, the children worked brilliantly to examine evidence and share ideas around the downfall of the Mayan civilisation. In Science, they created results tables and graphs based on our shadow investigations. In PE, we focused on basketball, where the children worked hard on creating space and improving their passing - there was some fantastic teamwork and encouragement throughout. Have a lovely weekend! 💜 Year 5 💜 In Literacy, we have been writing our Explanation Text, in preparation for our Dragon's Den style pitches! Ask your child about the product they have invented! In Maths, we have been interpreting data though graphs and tables. In Reading, we have making contextual links to World War 1. In Science, we explored the different phases of the moon. Please ask your children about this as the sun begins to set this evening! In Art, we prepared our backgrounds for our final printed pieces inspired by space. In Computing, we coded our own quizzes, allowing our peers to test and evaluate them. In Woodlands, we created our own paracord bracelets. In PE, we continued to develop our accuracy in badminton. The children have spent another week rehearsing for the Dance Show! Please see the email regarding costumes, any questions, please do get in touch! We are so excited for you to see this on Thursday! 💜 Year 3 💜 A fantastic week, Year 3! In Literacy we wrote a character description about a polar bear in our new book, in Reading we have been reading The Iron Man and in Maths we have been looking at telling the time. In Woodlands we planned shelters and then used the knots we had learnt to design and make a weather proof shelter, in PE we learnt how to score in handball, in PSHE we learnt about differences and what to do if someone is being bullied, in Art we used our block prints to print our portraits in the style of Picasso using ink and in Science we looked at everyday examples of push and pull forces and in R&WV we learnt that a Gurdwara is a special place where Sikh's pray. 💜 Year 2 💜 This week in Year 2, the children have been developing their Literacy skills by extending sentences using the words “because” and “when” to add more detail and explanation. In Maths, they have been learning about fractions and exploring halves, quarters and equal parts. During Woodland learning, the children enjoyed building structures using natural materials and working together as a team. In Science, they investigated plant habitats and discovered how different plants grow and survive in various environments. In R&WV, the class learned about Hindu festivals and explored how these celebrations are important within Hindu culture and traditions. Have a wonderful weekend. Miss Bailey & Mrs Eccleston 💜

💜 Year 1 💜 Our Year 1 children have had a fantastic week of learning. In Literacy, they explored beach‑setting descriptions, using rich vocabulary to bring their writing to life. In History, they compared their own holidays with Victorian seaside holidays, spotting similarities and differences with real curiosity. In Art, the children created their own versions of the Seven Wonders of the World, inspired by the style of Paul Klee. Their creativity has been incredible. See you on Monday! 💜 Reception 💜 This week in Reception, we have been immersed in Jack and the Beanstalk story. The children have enjoyed retelling the story in pairs and thought about their favourite part. In Maths, we have explored sharing numbers between two groups and have learnt about odd and even numbers. 💜 Nursery 💜 This week in Nursery we have been reading the story 'Cool Cars'. We have looked at and named the parts of a car and pretended to be fast drivers. In Maths, we have looked at shapes and buildings and created our own car parks and roads to drive around. Outside, we have rolled cars and tyres down ramps and different surfaces to see which ones travelled faster. We also enjoyed the rainy weather jumping in puddles! Have a lovely weekend! 💜 Year 3 💜 A fantastic week, Year 3! In Literacy, we published our instructions on how to wash a woolly mammoth; in Reading we have been reading The Iron Man and in Maths we have been looking at telling the time. In Woodlands we built shelters using the knots we have learnt, in PE we learnt to defend and intercept in handball, in PSHE we learnt about differences within communities and families and in R&WV we learnt about the 5 K’s. 💜 Nursery 💜 This week in Nursery we have been reading the story 'Roaring Rockets'. We have looked at space and played with rockets and astronauts. Outside, we took part in a science experiment creating 'rocket fuel' and singing 'zoom zoom zoom we're going to the moon'. In Maths, we have looked at longer and shorter and created Art using shapes and lines. We all celebrated Sir David Attenborough's 100th Birthday by dressing up as insects. Have a lovely weekend! 💜

💜 Reception 💜 This week in Reception, we have enjoyed sharing stories about Princesses. We designed our very own Princess and tested materials that would help the Princess from 'Princess and the Pea' sleep comfortably. In Maths, we have been exploring the composition of 10. We have used counters and cubes to find pairs of numbers that add to total 10. Outside, we have been developing our PD skills by learning how to hang on our ropes. This has taken a lot of resilience and patience. In Woodland we have created a mini bed using natural materials for our 'Mini Me' to sleep on. Well done for another super week. 💜 Year 1💜 Year 1 have been on quite the learning adventure this week. They began by diving into Literacy, crafting vivid setting descriptions of a sunny day at the beach. In Science, they became body detectives, discovering how different parts of the human body help us every day. R&WV took us on a journey through Hindu stories, learning about gods and deities with so much interest and respect. And to top it all off, Art lessons were filled with colour as the children created Paul Klee–inspired masterpieces based on the Seven Wonders of the World. A wonderful week of imagination, curiosity and creativity Have a brilliant weekend 🙂

💜 Year 2 💜 This week in Year 2, we began recognising halves of shapes in maths and wrote our fact file: Above and Below the Seashore in Literacy. In Art, the children designed their patterns ready for weaving, while in Science they explored what makes a microhabitat special. We also learned about the Great Fire of London, placing key events in chronological order to understand how the fire unfolded. Have a brilliant warm weekend.

💜 Year 4 💜 What a fantastic week for our Year 4s! They’ve been diving into their new class book Leaf, exploring its themes and characters with lots of curiosity and imagination. In Maths, they’ve been working hard on estimating money—building confidence with real‑life problem‑solving. And over in Woodlands, they’ve been hands‑on learning about different materials, practising knots, and even beginning to design their own structures. A brilliant mix of creativity, teamwork, and practical skills. Well done, Year 4!

💜 Year 5 💜 Another fantastic week in Year 5! In Literacy, we have been using our Rainbow Grammar cards to embed linking adverbs and relative clauses into our writing. In Maths, we have been interpreting data and drawing graphs. In Reading, we have continued making inferences surrounding character's feelings, motives and actions. In History, we discussed a range of push and pull factors to make informed inferences about why The Vikings came to Britain. In Art, we created multiple mock up sketches of our final piece. In Science, we learnt what causes day and night, drawing a scientific diagram and writing a developed explanation. Again, a huge well done and thank you to each and every child for their commitment to the rehearsals for the Dance Performance. It's going to blow you away - remember to purchase your tickets! Today, we dressed up and attended a worldwide Picture News Assembly to celebrate the 100th birthday of David Attenborough. Have a lovely weekend!

💜 Year 6 💜 In Literacy, we have focused on grammar, revisiting sentence types and developing a clearer understanding of the active and passive voice. In Maths, the children refreshed key skills such as converting measures and calculating area and perimeter. Our Science lessons explored how the distance of a light source affects the length of a shadow. In Computing pupils used coding to create their own projects. In PSHE, we talked sensibly about respect and the different ways it can be shown. In Basketball, we worked on choosing effective defensive techniques. In History, the children examined Maya sources, thinking carefully about reliability, validity and bias. As we move into SATs week, we want to reassure families that the tests are just one small snapshot of learning. The children have worked hard all year, they are ready, and we know they will smash them - we couldn’t be prouder of them. Have a lovely weekend!

❤️ Active Learners ❤️ Year 3 Farm Trip An amazing day out at Berry Farm on Wednesday for Year 3! They got to see how vegetables are planted and see how the flowers grow and turn into vegetables. They then got to sift through mud and water in a search for bugs. After lunch, we got to explore the woodlands area, learning about coppicing and why this is used to manage the woodland sustainably! Thank you to Berry Farm and Country Trust for the amazing day!

💜 Active Citizens 💜 We have had a wonderful day celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday. Across the school, children and adults dressed up to represent a theme from some of Sir David's iconic documentary series: insects, mammals, birds and ocean animals. We took part in Picture News' Live Celebration Assembly and learned about Sir David's life and incredible achievements. A huge thank you to families for your support in providing the children with costumes and/or accessories 💜

💜 Year 6 💜 It has been a busy week in Year 6. In Literacy, the children have continued writing biographies, focusing on early life and career achievements. In Maths, we revisited fractions, decimals and percentages to strengthen understanding and connections between them. In Reading, we finished Skellig, which sparked thoughtful discussions and reflections. In History, we explored daily life in the Mayan civilisation, and in Science, we investigated light and refraction.
